Do you have favorite memories of growing up? Of your friends & family?
I have an awesome family. Growing up it was my parents, both of my sisters and I. My family was involved in church and a few other non-profits. We volunteered, attended fundraisers, and offered support to others however we could no matter how small the gesture. Remembering things we did as a family, volunteering or raising funds for those in need, brought me where I am today.
Today I was trying to gather my thoughts about what the next steps are for what I need to do to make a bigger difference in the lives of breast cancer patients. As I was staring off into the living room and my gaze landed on this photo.
This picture is of my Mom and my son. This was taken approximately 7 weeks before Mom passed away. It is because of the support my family had from other family members, and friends from all over, my family was able to spend time with my mom like we should have. The support my family received gave my Dad piece of mind over the years of Mom's battle.
This is the reason why we help breast cancer patients - so they can enjoy moments like this. We want breast cancer patients to concentrate their families rather than worrying about bills not covered by insurance.
Sometimes it takes looking back to remember why we started, where the beginning was and where we are going.
